The Dictionary for Event Planners

Yes, you read it right. I said dictionary. There are some terms event planners use to describe a specific setup for events. Below are some terms I found on meetingpages.com that you may use or have heard of, or never heard of! Check them out!

Air Walls: movable panels used to subdivide a larger area

Cartage: the movement of exhibit properties over a short distance, or a cost to do so

Dead Man: a temporary post used during installation to help support the weight of an overhead structure

Pipe and Drape: tubing covered with draped fabric that makes up the rails and back wall of a booth

Show Break: a specified time for the closing of an exhibition and the beginning of dismantling

Skirting: fabric affixed around tables, stages and risers often hiding storage and cords

Strike: take down exhibits

Terminal: a loading dock or freight-handling area at a convention center or event facility
